Someone I love once gave me a box full of darkness. It took me years to understand that this, too, was a gift.

Welcome! I’m Tamara.

I’m licensed clinical mental health professional who is dedicated to creating safe and empowering spaces for Black women and girls to heal, grow, and thrive. As a Black woman, I deeply understand the unique challenges we face, from navigating systemic pressures to balancing cultural expectations. My practice is rooted in culturally responsive care.

My overall therapeutic approach is eclectic, however I heavily rely and utilize a psychodynamic approach to support my clients in identifying subconscious thoughts and feelings that influence their behavior. I aim to create a safe, vulnerable space for clients to release. I work to customize a healing space where I challenge clients to accept the entirety of their experiences in order to work toward a path of resilience, empowerment, and authenticity. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression and Black women issues.

Most of my clients are Black women and girls with concerns such as:

  • Experiencing a change in presentation such as sadness, anxiety, mood swings, isolation, and low motivation

  • Feeling unheard and undervalued

  • Adultification

  • Poor relationship boundaries

  • Unrequited ove

  • Stress and burnout

  • Self-esteem issues

  • Navigating identity

  • Desiring a new way to show up in the world

  • Experiencing unwanted or unhelpful thoughts about themselves
